Our Story
Growing up, I often heard my mom say, “You don’t dress up for the occasion or for other people. You dress up for yourself.”
Somewhere along the way, that became much more than advice. I started seeing getting dressed as a small act of self-care — a way of taking a little time for yourself, of feeling good in your own skin, simply because you want to.
Mom and I started Hiya from that love of clothes. From the joy of finding something that feels completely you. And, perhaps most of all, from the joy of dressing the people we love. I’ve always loved putting together outfits for my friends, helping someone find that one piece that makes them feel a little more confident, a little more themselves.
But there was something we kept noticing: so many clothes were designed with one idea of a woman’s body in mind.
And women’s bodies simply don’t work that way.
They change. They grow. They soften. They shift. We all have different shapes, proportions and ways we want our clothes to fit us. We wanted Hiya to make space for that.
That’s why Hiya is a custom label. Our clothes are made to fit you — not the other way around. Whether you want a different length, a little more room, a different silhouette or a completely custom measurement, we want you to be able to make the piece yours.
Because we don’t think clothes should tell you how your body needs to look.
They should make you feel good in the body you have.
Hiya is our little celebration of clothes, self-expression and the everyday ritual of dressing up for yourself.
